South Africa is the world’s fifth-largest diamonds producer report

According to GlobalData, South Africa is the world’s fifth-largest producer of diamonds in 2022, with output up by 6% on 2021. Over the five years to 2021, production from South Africa increased by a CAGR of 0.09% and is expected to rise by a CAGR of 7% between 2022 and 2026. South-African-Diamonds
South Africa’s biggest diamond mine, Venetia, is located in the Northern Transvaal within Limpopo Province in the north-east part of the country. The mine is owned by De Beers, which is a subsidiary of Anglo American.
The magnificent Cullinan Diamond – the largest diamond ever found- is incorporated into the Crown Jewels. The stone was discovered near Pretoria in modern -day South Africa in 1905, and is named after the chairman of the mining company, Thomas Cullinan.
